1. The key rule: damp skin
This is the most important step. Always apply whipped butter to damp skin, ideally right after a shower or bath. The oils in the butter need that moisture so they can lock it into the skin. That way you create a natural emulsion which sinks in far more quickly and deeply. If you apply it to completely dry skin, the butter will sit on the surface for a long time and you will have a greasy feeling.
2. Less is more
Forget scooping up whole handfuls. Whipped butter is a highly concentrated product, so an amount the size of a hazelnut is enough for one whole limb. Thanks to its whipped texture it spreads incredibly easily and covers a much larger area than you would expect.
3. The warmth of your palms
Before you bring the butter to your body, gently spread it between your palms. You will see the airy foam turn into a liquid silken oil in a second, and in this state it is ready to apply. What is more, the warmth releases its incredible and unforgettable scent even more intensely.
4. A gentle massage
Never rub the butter into your skin with force - quite the opposite, use long, gentle strokes towards the heart. Not only will you help it sink in, you will also support the lymphatic system and the circulation in your skin, which gives it an even healthier look.
A little tip from us: whipped butters are also loved by extremely dry spots. If you have dry elbows, heels or cuticles, treat them to an extra layer just before sleep. Overnight the butter works as a deep renewing treatment and in the morning you will wake up with skin you will not recognise.
