Ouch, that hurts…

Every one of us has dealt with a health problem at some point – some of us get stomach aches, some get headaches, and some don't even know what's wrong. Our story began with aching joints. My father Patrik had long-standing joint problems, and at first he tried consulting doctors, but even with professional help, he couldn't find or identify the cause of the pain. One day he decided to try a different kind of treatment, remembering his grandmother, with whom he used to gather herbs as a child. One magical root stuck in his mind – comfrey root. He didn't hesitate a single day, dug up comfrey in our meadow and left it to macerate, and after four weeks he applied it to the sore spot. A miracle – the pain eased almost immediately, and that's when he came to believe in the power of herbs, and that's how our story began.

Learning and Progress

Thanks to old herbal books, my father began educating himself and finding tips on other herbs, and gradually came up with his own unique recipes. In the meantime, my mother Erika joined this story too – she struggled with a strong sun allergy and pigment spots, and following my father's example, she tried making her own cosmetic products. When she swapped commercial cosmetics for her own, she found her problems disappearing. That's how my parents started to dive deep into making natural cosmetics and tinctures, at first just for themselves, family and friends.

Then I joined in – I'm their son Albert – with the task of creating an online shop, which I managed to do. We chose the brand name PANAKEIA (the Greek goddess of healing, meaning “the all-healer”), a name that matched our field perfectly. The products were prepared with everything needed for certification and sent off for testing. And that's how the PANAKEIA brand was born.
