Urucum powder was used by the indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin long before Europeans came to that land. To this day the local people use urucum powder to colour food, skin and even hair. This powder strongly supports the pigmentation of the skin and is extremely rich in beta-carotene. It stimulates melanin production and prepares the skin for sunbathing. Thanks to its high beta-carotene content (it contains 100 times more than carrot oil), it gives the skin a natural, golden, quick and long-lasting tan.
